Weekly Weigh-in & Week 22 Pictures

Weighing In Today:  119.1 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  2.2 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  42.2 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  -0.9 lbs.

It's come at last!!!  I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am.  This process has begun to wear thin on me.  (Haha.  Pun only slightly intended.)  I'm exhausted and worn out.  Both mentally and physically.  I'm more than ready to lighten up a bit on myself.  Strength training days in particular are going to be revamped.  I have been spent so much time working out on those days, it really wasn't fair to Anna.  The way I look at it, these last 5 1/2 months have been about me and getting to be a little more selfish with my time than I normally would allow.  However, I'm also a mom and I try to be a good one.  My "ME" time is going to have to come back to a normal level and I can take more time to focus on taking Anna outside and we both can get a lot more fresh air and relaxing time.  This doesn't mean to imply that I'm not going to be working out at all anymore.  Cardio days are still the same, but they don't nearly the amount of time strength days do.  Since my stay-at-home-mom-with-no-car situation hasn't changed, I still need workouts I can do from the comfort of my living room.  I'm considering P90X or Insanity, but for now I'm going to be doing a Jillian Michaels workout I found on Youtube and maybe a few more calisthenics thrown in for good measure.  I'm all for any good suggestions you guys have.

Before & After

You can't tell as well from these pictures, but this swimsuit really doesn't fit me anymore.  Haha.  There's a lot of extra fabric it's ridiculous.  I'm kinda hunched a little in the last picture I'm looking to the side (toward the picture frames) because we took them this morning before Anna woke up.  She heard the sound of the camera from her room and kept saying, "Oh wow! Take a picture!".  Haha!  I love that little girl.  Ty and I couldn't stop laughing.

I'm so happy with how far I've come and how well I've done.  I've worked so hard and the results are definitely easy to see.  During this process and along the way, people have asked me what my secret is or how I did it.  The truth is there is no magic or secret weapons I've used to lose all this weight.  I'm just like so many other SAHMs (Stay At Home Moms) who want/need to get their workout in.  I don't have a car and we are on a limited budget, so a gym is out of the question.  We are lucky that our complex has a gym with treadmills because we couldn't fit ours in our condo.  If I didn't have that, I would still probably try running outside.  Easy and free.  My strength training days have consisted of youtube workout videos (BikiniBodyMommy, Jillian Michaels videos) and workouts from an app.  Awhile ago, a friend of mine posted a KSL article on key strategies to losing weight and they are all exactly right one.  Go here to read the article.  I think the key from here on out to keeping the weight off is sticking with my monthly meal plan.  I'll be checking in here and there to let you know how I'm doing and to keep myself accountable.  I hope everyone has the same great success I've had! 'Til next time!!

Monthly Menu Plan

I've had a few questions about my menu plan from several people, so I decided that I would finally write a separate post about it.

It's really important for me to make a monthly menu for several reasons.  Having a plan that you can divert from if necessary is easier than having no idea what to do and making a last minute bad decision.  I, also, do my grocery shopping every two weeks, though I usually get produce weekly.  You'd be surprised at how much money you can save for both of these reasons.  We don't eat out very often while I am trying to lose weight and we don't go out of town, except once or twice a year so that definitely helps save money and calories.

Here's what this month looks like:

I actually copied the template from a Pinterest idea.  A blogger mom makes a plan that looks similar to this for her family and I really liked how it maps out the day so I adapted it for my use.  My breakfasts and lunch are pretty much the same everyday, except of course for Fast Sundays.  Dinners, Monday through Thursday, are rotated every two weeks.  Fridays alternate between homemade Pizza and breakfast.  Saturday and Sundays are typical go to meals, recipes from my cookbooks, or Pinterest finds.  Other than dinners Monday through Thursday, everything in the menu is subject to change based on calories I'm going for, my mood, or holidays (this actually does include any holiday that lands on a day during the week, I just move the healthy meal to a weekend night).  Eating healthier meals during the week and not so healthy meals helps me maintain balance and not feel deprived.  I think it makes it easier on the rest of the family as well.  Ty definitely appreciates the Pizza nights!

I'm sure you are curious about the healthy meals that I put on my menu so I decided to add the recipes on this post as well.  Something to keep in mind, Ty and I are both VERY picky eaters, so if we can keep eating it biweekly then you know it's got potential.  That being said, there are two meals he doesn't care for as much and he has decided those nights he's on his own. Other than that, he eats what I eat.  When I make dinners during the week, I always pair the chicken with brown rice and veggies.  Ty will have either white rice or potatoes and veggies, but it's not too hard to make either of those things in their instant forms.  I make my brown rice in bulk and reheat for meals, so it's easy enough to do that with white rice as well. Just add a little bit of water and nuke in the microwave for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Okay, without further ado, here are the recipes I use Mondays through Thursdays.  I usually cut these in half because there's just the two of us adults and a toddler so we don't need as much, obviously.

Almond Chicken Kabobs
*I actually don't do the almonds, so it ends up being more of a Honey Mustard Chicken, but still so good.
-1 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
-1 Tbsp. Honey
-1 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
-4 skinless, Boneless Chicken Breast Halves, cut into 1 inch halves
-1/4 cup chopped toasted almonds

Directions:
1.  In a medium bowl blend Dijon mustard, honey, oil, & lemon juice. Place chicken in the mixture, stir to coat. Cover & marinate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.
2.  Thread chicken on skewers. Grill for 7 to 10 (Broil: 6 minutes on top and bottom), until no longer pink inside & juices run clear.
3.  Remove skewers from heat & quickly roll in almonds to lightly coat.

Honey Chicken Kabobs
-1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-1/3 cup Honey
-1/3 cup Soy Sauce
-1/4 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
-8 Skinless, Boneless Chicken Breast Halves, cut into 1 inch cubes
-2 Cloves garlic (I use minced)
-5 Small Onions, cut into 2 inch pieces
-2 Red Bell Peppers, cut into 1-2 inch pieces

Directions:
1.  In a large bowl, whisk together oil, honey, soy sauce, & pepper (& garlic if you do minced).  Place chicken, garlic (if not minced), onions, & peppers in the bowl & marinate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours.
2.  Thread chicken & veggies alternately onto skewers.
3.  Grill for 12-15 minutes, until juices run clear.  Or broil 6 minutes on top and bottom.

Key West Grilled Chicken Kabobs
This was a Pinterest find that we added to our cycle.  The link has the full recipe.

Mozzarella Chicken
-1/2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-4 Skinless, Boneless Chicken Breast Halves
-1/2 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
-1/2 tsp. Minced Garlic
-1/4 cup Minced Onion (*Can we just say this is really small diced? Cuz that's what it is. Haha.)
-1/2 cup Chicken Broth
-4 cups Spaghetti Sauce (Look for any kind that doesn't have sugar. I use the Classico brand.)
-1 cup Shredded Mozzarella

Directions:
1.  Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat.  Saute chicken for 4-5 minutes, on each side or until white.
2.  Add pepper, garlic, onion & broth.  Cover & simmer about 7-10 minutes, or until broth cooks off.
3.  Stir in spaghetti sauce, cover & simmer 10 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through & no longer pink inside.
4.  Sprinkle cheese on top, cover, & cook 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted.  Serve hot.

Garlic Lemon Chicken Kabobs *This is Ty's favorite of all the healthy recipes I make.
-3 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-Zest pf 1 Lemon
-3 Cloves Garlic, Minced or Pressed
-1 Tbsp. Minced Fresh Parsley, or 1 tsp. dried
-1 tsp. Kosher Salt
-1/2 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
-1 lb. (or 4 Halves) Skinless, Boneless Chicken Breasts, cut into 3/4 to 1 inch pieces

Directions:
1.  In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon zest, garlic, parsley, salt & pepper.  Add the chicken pieces to the bowl & mix to coat with the marinate.  Cover & refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours, up to 8 hours.
2. Thread the chicken onto skewers.  Grill about 8-12 minutes, or broil for 6 minutes on top and bottom.

Chicken 21 *From an HCG meal plan cookbook.
-Chicken Breasts
-Kirkland Organic No-Salt
-Brown Rice Vinegar
-Kosher Salt

Directions:
In a bowl, sprinkle the no-salt seasoning liberally over the chicken, making sure to coat both sides.  Add in a pinch of kosher salt per chicken breast, then drizzle brown rice vinegar down over the chicken, until the liquid begins to pool just a little bit.  You don't want the chicken submerged, but don't skimp.

Cover the bowl and forget about it for a day or two.  (I only let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or a little more.)  Then grill, pan sear, or bake the chicken.

Mexican Chicken Kabobs
-2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-1 tsp. Ground Cumin
-2 Tbsp. Chopped Fresh Cilantro (or 1/2 Tbsp. dried)
-1 Lime, juiced
-Salt & Pepper, to taste
-2 Skinless, Boneless Chicken Breast Halves, cut into 1 inch cubes
-1 Onion, cut into wedges & separated
-1 Red Bell Pepper, cut into 1-2 inch pieces
-10 Cherry Tomatoes (optional, I never use)
-1 Small zucchini, cut into 1/2 inch slices (optional, I never use)

Directions:

1.  In a shallow dish, mix together olive oil, cumin, cilantro, and lime juice.  Season with salt and pepper.  Add chicken, and mix well.  Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.
2.  Thread chicken & vegetables while oven or grill is preheating.
3.  Cook for approximately 10 minutes, or broil for 6 minutes on top and bottom.

Chicken Provencal  *From an HCG meal plan cookbook.
-2 Chicken Breasts
-2 Cloves Garlic, minced
-2-3 Tbsp. Herbs de Provence

Place the chicken breasts in a small glass baking dish, spread the garlic and sprinkle the Herbs de Provence over both sides of the chicken, then cover with foil.

Bake in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

Chicken Tortilla Soup
*This is one I actually do for Sundays, but it makes a lot for us and I'll freeze it and use it later for either another Sunday or during the week when needed.  It's also a great crockpot meal that I love.
-4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs (About 1 pound) *I use Chicken breasts
-2 Cans (15 oz. each) Diced Tomatoes, undrained
-1 Can (4 oz.) Chopped Mild Green Chilies, drained
-1 Yellow Onion, diced
-2 Cloved Garlic, minced
-1/2 to 1 cup Chicken Broth
-1 tsp. Cumin
-Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
-4 Corn Tortillas, sliced into 1/4-inch strips *I omit this and just use the Multigrain chips from Costco.
-2 Tbsp. Chopped Fresh Cilantro *or 1 Tbsp. dried
-1/2 cup Shredded Monterey Jack cheese *I use Mozzarella and only use 1/8 cup for each serving of mine.
-1 Avocado, seeded, peeled, diced and diced with lime juice to prevent browning *I omit this.
-Lime wedges

Directions:
1.  Place chicken in Crock-Pot.  Combine tomatoes with juice, chilies, onion, garlic, 1/2 cup chicken broth, and cumin in a small bowl.  Pour mixture over chicken.  Cover; cook on HIGH 3 hours, or until chicken is tender.
2.  Remove chicken from Crock-Pot.  Shred with 2 forks. Return to cooking liquid.  Adjust seasonings, adding more broth if necessary.
3.  Just before serving, add tortillas and cilantro to Crock-Pot.  Stir to blend.  Serve in soup bowls, topping each service with cheese, avocado, and a squeeze of lime juice.

*NOTE:  I use a George Foreman because we don't have a grill and the oven makes it the house so hot, though that comes in handy during the cold months.  When using the Foreman grill, I don't use skewers and just throw everything on it and it all works out great.  It also doesn't take as long to cook.  For the kabobs, I will grill them for about 5 minutes, flipping halfway.  The Chicken 21 and Provencal take 4 minutes, also flipping halfway.  Another side note, I will usually only marinate 30 minutes because I'm short on time and I just don't want to take the time.  It seems like it works out just fine, but you can decide how strong you want the flavor.

These recipes are gluten free or can be made gluten free very easily.  I eat that way, though not exclusively, when my diet is where it should be.  It's hard, but doable if you have good recipes.   If you have any recipes to share with me, PLEASE DO.  It's always good to add good recipes to my repertoire.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  121.4 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  .7 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  39.9 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  1.4 lbs.

Well, I'll admit that I was hoping this was my last weigh-in for this round of losing weight.  Haha. I should have known!!  I'm proud of this week's weight loss, but I'll admit I was really hoping for a lot more.  I'm ready to break a little and be in maintenance mode.  It's so exciting and frustrating at the same time, to be this close to my goal.  I'm excited that only have such a small amount to lose, but frustrated because it's harder to lose weight the closer you are to your goal weight.  That's okay.  Just gotta keep truckin'.  This week has been a good time for reflection on my progress and really taking in my new figure.  It's still weird for me.  Do you remember the latest Biggest Loser, Rachel Frederickson?  Everyone was so concerned about her extreme weight loss.  I was one of those.  Now, however, I get it.  You build up momentum and even if you are reaching your weight goals, you're body doesn't necessarily match up to the image you have in your mind. It's easy to think that if you just lose more weight, you'll eventually get there, but it takes more than that and really that's not the healthy way to go.  (***I also think she was just trying to win a competition, not be unhealthy, and did everything she could think of to make that more of a guarantee.***)  I don't have any plans to lose more weight past 120 lbs.  I think that's the right weight for me and I'd like to maintain that for as long as I'm able, while still striving to build muscle and lose fat.  Right now, my focus is mainly weight loss so of course that focus will shift after I reach my goal.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  122.1 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  1.2 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  39.2 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  2.1 lbs.

Finally getting around to posting this week's weigh-in!  My laptop charging cord decided to die and I ordered a new one that took forever to get here, only to find out I ordered the wrong one and had to wait for the right one to arrive.  UGH! Oh well.  At least my weigh-in was great! I'm so close to the finish line!  It's definitely got me thinking about the "After".  What happens when I do meet my goal? Well, I'll save that for the final post.  Rest assured, I'm not going to be just lazing about.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  123.3 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  1.8 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  38 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  3.3 lbs.

Holy Hannah!!! I'm so stinkin' close I can taste it! The end is in sight.  An uplifting thought I had this morning as well was that since the beginning of this month, I'm the smallest I've ever been.  And as long as I continue to lose weight and then maintain it, that will continue to be true.  Never in my teenage or adult life have I been this small/size.  We went thrift store shopping for shorts for me and Anna on Saturday and it was definitely a happy trip.  I couldn't believe that I was able to fit into size 8 jeans!  I'm seriously freaking out about it.  Haha.  It's so awesome!!!  I'm so happy with the direction my body has taken.  Last week I finally was able to run for 60 minutes straight for the first time in my life.  I've been running at 5mph and I'm going to slowly build up to 6mph to keep challenging myself.  It's going to be hard, but I know I can do it.

As a side note of sorts:  because I'm so close to my goal, I'm going to postpone my progress pictures and measurements until I've reached it.  Technically, I'm supposed to be posting my update next week, but I'm hoping to reach my goal within 2 or 3 weeks from now.  Can you guys hold on until then? Yes? Good. Cuz you're gonna have to.  ;)

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  125.1 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  2.2 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  36.2 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  5.1 lbs.

I'm soooooo excited!  I'm only 5 pounds away from my goal!  I'll confess that one of my first thoughts was,  "It's almost over."  Then, I breathed a sigh of relief.  I've been going at this hard for 4 1/2 months and I'm so tired and worn out.  Of course, it's all been worth it.  I don't regret any of the hard work I've put it to make myself happier, healthier, and hotter.  This weekend we are actually planning some thrift store shopping and I'll definitely need to find some more stuff.  I'm just looking forward to finally getting to a place of maintenance.  Also, I'm looking forward to having a cookie and then not feeling like I might have screwed everything up I just did that week.  I do give myself indulgences (60 calorie sugar free pudding, 100 calorie or less ice cream cups, or 90 calorie FiberOne brownies), but ya know, I love to bake and even though I love sharing those yummy things with others I'd like to take my own share of those things.  Call me crazy.  Haha.  However, this is not the time to lose momentum. I'm so close to my goal and it's now that I have to work my hardest to get there.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  127.3 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  1.4 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  34 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  7.3 lbs.

Huzzah! What an awesome result this week! I'm definitely happy with the progress I'm making. I have less than 10 pounds to my goal weight.  How cool is that?! I still can't believe I'm so close.  With my last weigh-in being one where I took new pictures and measurements, I've been reflecting a lot on the past four months.  Yeah, four months.  So weird.  My body has changed significantly and really so has my quality of life.  To think that only 6 months ago, I had just had surgery for the most awful thing I could imagine and barely able to walk afterward.  Now, I'm running for almost an hour straight! Ty actually found a few articles and realized he wasn't working out the way he really should and started doing the C25K on my recommendation.  I'm excited for him to see the benefits I did.  We're both looking forward to the warmer weather and taking advantage of outside activities with Anna.  I'll share more on all that later.

I had a friend of mine ask me this week, after not seeing me for a few weeks, what my weight loss secret was.  The truth is:  THERE IS NO SECRET.  It's all just hard work and making it a habit.  Figure out what motivates you and then at some point, even that won't matter because you'll just be used to doing it.  And even if you still have to keep up the motivation, like myself, you'll realize that your motivation will change as you change.  I started out needing to earn rewards.  And while I still like getting them, they aren't as big of a deal.  Also, it gets expensive.  My motivation is actually some of the initial reasons I started doing this in the first place.  To not be afraid of having my picture taken because I'm confident about how I look, to be able to live better for Anna, and look smokin' hot in a dress.  I'm definitely accomplishing my goals.  What an amazing feeling!

Weekly Weigh-In & Week 16 Pictures

Weighing In Today:  128.7 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  1.2 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  32.6 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  8.7 lbs.

Another week down, another pound lost.  Something I didn't say last week, that really needs mentioning, I officially lost all of my pregnancy weight.  Can you believe it?!  Only took me 2 years.  Haha.  You know, I was thinking about it yesterday.  It may have taken me a while to get there, but putting in all this work that I've been doing took a lot of mental preparation.  I'm an all or nothing sort of personality.  I couldn't do this halfway.  And now I'm on my way to my ideal weight.  A place I've never been before.  I'm so happy with how far I've come.  I'm kinda awesome.  ;)

Week 16

It's crazy looking back at all the pictures.  Especially comparing the first week to this one.  Holy bloated-pregnant-looking belly Batman!!  Also, it's crazy how much less junk in my trunk there is.  Even compared to last month.  This swimsuit has a lot of extra material goin' on.  Haha.  Ty's encouraged me to get a new, better fitting swimsuit for the finale.  It's funny.  I bought this swimsuit, thinking it was figure flattering because of the tummy tucking it was supposed to be doing.  Looking at myself in these pictures I realize it REALLY isn't.  Haha.  I still don't ever plan on wearing a bikini because of modesty reasons (that and the stretch marks on my belly from pregnancy have made it all wrinkly), but man I feel like I'm getting close to a point that one wouldn't look hideous on me.  I'm getting more and more excited for Summer and reunions and family pictures.  I finally feel a little more confident in how I look and don't feel like I have to shy away from things.  That right there is the best accomplishment of this whole journey thus far.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  129.9 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:   .7 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  31.4 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  9.9 lbs.

Not an incredible amount of weight loss, but what can you expect after last week's jaw dropping amount.  Haha.  Plus, with Easter and a certain time being this last week, I wasn't expecting anything near the same result as last time.  Either way, I get a reward!!!  Huzzah!  And this one is going to be so good and well deserved, I'd say.  A MASSAGE!!  I've been waiting the entire process for this one.  I'm not sure when exactly it will happen since Ty will be going out of town this week for his brother's wedding, but we'll see.  I still need to post about my latest rewards that I procured.  Hopefully, I'll get to that this week.  I also, need to buy some new underhosen.....nothing fits.  It's ridiculous and hilarious.  It's pretty fun to see just how much I've lost that way, but I really need things that fit.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  130.6 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:   3.4 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  30.7 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  10.6 lbs.

Hold the phone?  Is that really what my scale said?!  You better believe it.  I had to weigh myself twice to make sure the scale didn't have a malfunction.  I was seriously expecting a 1 to 1.5 pound loss.  Not double that!  I'll take it.  :)  The beginning of the week was kind of a rough start.  No matter how much protein I would get in a day, I would still be hungry.  On top of that I was still having issues with feeling bloated and constipated once again.  It seemed like I would try something, it would work for a little bit and then stop and I'd be right back to where I started.  It didn't make feel to great about the way I looked either.  I would honestly feel like I looked like the way I did before starting to lose weight.  How disappointing, right?  I asked my father-in-law to do some muscle testing for me.  As I had assumed, I wasn't assimilating protein like I should and we were able to clear the problem.  He tested that I needed to be eating figs to help with the bloating and constipated issue.  Since then, both problems are gone and I'm doing much better.  I don't care what anyone says, muscle testing is life saving.  I had a pretty successful weekend of shopping for Easter dresses and I'm counting that as one of my rewards because it was the first time since starting this that I really felt skinny and that is a great reward.  I'll post about it all later. For now, I'm just so happy with how far I've come and plan to celebrate with some working out so I can keep getting closer to my goal weight.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  134 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  1.5 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  27.3 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  14 lbs.

I'm getting so close!!!  And I'm making awesome progress.  You may have noticed a little change in the area of "Weight Left to Make Goal".  This is because I've decided to make my goal weight 120 instead of 115.  It's something that's been on my mind lately and I really feel like this is the best decision.  Sure, it's only 5 lbs., but I think 120 is really more my ideal weight anyway.  If I get to 115, that would be cool, but I'm not putting that pressure on myself.  This is the direction I'm comfortable with and I think it will all work out great.  Can you believe I've already lost this much?!  I'm so proud of myself for my accomplishments and really look forward to the ones to come.

Small Victories

I forgot to mention in my weigh-in post that over the weekend, on our anniversary, we decided to do a little shopping at ROSS since we were sans Anna and that basically never happens.  I had just bought a bunch of shirts at Savers for dirt cheap so I didn't need much.  However, I did need another pair of pants since I was wearing the only ones that fit me.  I had two other pairs of size 12's, but they were fitting baggy on me.  The pair I've been wearing are from Maurices and are sized like men's pants so I'm not sure what they would be in women's.  Well, at least I didn't.  Thinking I was still in size 12 (I'm at the weight I was in high school and that's what I wore then) I tried on a pair of jeans in that size.  Most anything I try on is long on me, but these were also really baggy.  Weird.  I decided to go for it since we had the time and tried on a size 10 pair.  Yes, they were long and needed to be rolled up (curse of being short), but they fit perfectly in every other aspect.  Huzzah!!!  The last time I was able to wear size 10 was when I was pregnant and they were maternity pants.

Weighing In Today:  135.5 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  .9 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  25.8 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  20.5 lbs.

This morning, when I first weighed in, it had the showed the same weight that I was last week.  Um, no.  I know we had a fun weekend for our anniversary, but I was pretty good.  I got back on and it gave a better answer.  Haha.  I can't believe this is week 12! Three months have officially passed and I'm looking pretty good if I do say so myself.  :)  People are definitely noticing too.  My mother-in-law is in town to help out with my niece and nephews while my sister-in-law is in the hospital.  We went over there yesterday to bring dinner and she was so surprised to see how thin I look.  She hasn't seen me since Thanksgiving so that's definitely a big difference.  Let's take a look, shall we?

After taking these pictures last night, Ty asked me if the swimsuit even still fit anymore.  It's the kind that's supposed to be tummy tucking, so it fit fine there, but it was a bit baggy in the chest and bum.  Huzzah!  Hopefully, the next time I do pictures I'll have to find a whole new swimsuit.  Also, can I just say, that I have no idea what to do with my arms in these pictures.  Haha.  I never know if I just have them back far enough to see the belly or forward enough to see the belly.  Oh well.  Hopefully, you'll get the idea.  So, on kind of a downer note, a couple of people who have congratulated me on my progress, have also said that I shouldn't lose anymore.  Personally, I would like to get  lose at least 10 to 15 more.  Right now, I'm still at the top of the healthy BMI range for my height.  It's great to be in normal, healthy range and I'd like to be comfortably situated within it.  Am I so weird to want to be my best self and to get frustrated when people tell me not to lose any more weight?  Maybe, but I'm not a stick and I don't really like it when they go about it like I'm endanger of going too far.  What do you guys think?  Am I overthinking this?  Whatever.  I'm just doing what I think works for me.  Haha.  I have to live in this body right?  So I might as well enjoy it.

145 Weight Reward: Necklace & Earrings

This one made me very happy.  One, because I love pretty jewelry and two, because I got an awesome deal.  I met this goal and wasn't sure where I would find what I was looking for.  I wanted a necklace and earrings that matched, but I wanted them to be simple.  Big, flashy jewelry doesn't exactly fit in with my lifestyle.  :)  Many years ago, Ty introduced me to a site called Woot.com and it's expanded since then to a few different categories, but still only selling one thing a day.  On the accessories and jewelry site they had some lovely pieces and I knew right away which ones I wanted.  It only cost about $20!!  I think they are so pretty and a perfect reward for getting to 145.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  136.4 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  2.2 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  24.9 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  21.4 lbs.

Woot!  Guys, I'm FINALLY in normal BMI range! Huzzah! I'm so excited.  This week has been interesting for my workouts.  The Bikini Body Mommy workouts have been good, but not enough for me.  I added doing Wii Fit Run for 30 minutes, however, once you lose enough weight, doing the same exercise doesn't burn the same amount of calories.  Which means, I needed to start working harder.  I decided to add Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred on my strength training days.  My C25K always increases my running time and so I wasn't worried about that.  I still really like the Bikini Body Mommy workouts.  They can definitely work me.  (Four minute walking lunges KILL.)  However, they just aren't long enough to make me feel like I'm pushing my body to get where it can go.  The workouts themselves are only about 8 to 20 minutes total.  I do think that it will be a great program for after pregnancy to work back into getting back in shape.  Obviously, I didn't do too much of any working out after Anna was born.  Mostly because you can't really find any workout programs that a good for recovering mommies that don't take a long time.  Even half an hour seems like a long time when you have to feed your infant every few hours.

Anyway, to get back on track, I'm very happy with how well my weight loss has been going.  Remember when I talked about my rewards and not being sure what to do for my 140 lbs. reward?  Well, after talking with a few people who have gone in early to the Aquarium, I'm going to put that on the back burner for a bit and just move up the other rewards.  The Aquarium opens on the 25th, but there is still a lot that is unfinished.  I'd rather wait until it's fully completed.  So stay tuned for the next couple of rewards to get posted.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  138.6 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  .9 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  22.7 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  23.6 lbs.

Not to surprising considering the mega weight loss from last week.  I'm not too troubled by it.  After all, I'm still about half way to my goal.  This last weekend was kinda crazy so I'm looking forward to another week of hitting it hard and losing more weight.  It's St. Patrick's Day and I love to celebrate with some Shepherd's Pie and a treat.  I still plan on it, but my portions will be scaled back and I'll also be making sure I've worked out enough to cover my bases.  Really, my main goal for the week is to get more sleep.  Ty and I both haven't been sleeping well and waking up too early.  It's awful and I'm exhausted all day.  With today being laundry day I doubt I'll get much rest.  Ugh.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  139.5 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  3.6 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  21.8 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  24.5 lbs.

Say WHA????  When I saw my newest weight on the scale this morning, that's what I kept thinking over and over.  "What? What?....What?"  I mean don't get me wrong.  I'm not complaining by any means, I'm just really surprised.  I did get my hair cut for Locks of Love on Saturday and it was a good 10 inches of hair that is now missing from my scalp.  How much does hair weigh? I'm sticking with my goal to only weigh myself once a week, but I was really tempted to weigh myself before and after the haircut.  Haha.  I should have brought a scale with me to see how much that chunk of hair weighed.  Not that that's where all of my weight loss came from.  I, obviously, did a lot of work this week.  It's possible that I underestimated the intensity of my Bikini Body Mommy workouts. I counted them as light/moderate, but they were kinda intense this week.  I'm just never sure where to gauge that, ya know?  Oh well.  I'm not going to over-analyze this anymore.  It is what it is and it's awesome, so there you have it.  :)

The really crazy part about all of this is that I just earned a reward last week and earned another one this week.  Okay!! I like rewards.  :)  This one is tricky because I had originally planned to get music added to my iTunes, but I needed to get music for doing my running.  Then, I decided to replace the music with a family trip to the Aquarium that's about to open up really close to us.  Well, it'll open in a couple of weeks, but I debating switching the Aquarium reward with the next reward, which is to get a new purse.  I will probably reach the next goal by the time the Aquarium opens or shortly after and we probably don't want to go right when it opens anyway.   What do you guys think?

Weekly Weigh-in & Week 8 Pictures

Weighing In Today:  143.1 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  1.9 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  18.2 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  28.1 lbs.

Wahoo! Another two (basically) pounds bites the dust.  Definitely makes me feel better.  I'm just about over this cold and that is another thing for me to celebrate.  I'm feeling so great right now.  My progress is just kind of awesome and my body is looking pretty dang good.  The bloating is dying down as I've been taking action against it.  Probiotics are definitely a good key to this, but I've been eating 1-2 Tbsp. of Sauerkraut a day to help keep my digestive system in gear.  There are a lot of natural probiotics like sauerkraut that you can take, like yogurt, but this is just much more effective and I actually don't mind it like a lot of people do.  I guess that's the German in me.  Haha.  If you are having a similar issue, I highly recommend giving this a try.  Your body will thank you.  All of us women know that bloating can affect weight and the way our body looks.  This has been something I've been dealing with even when I'm not experiencing lady time and let me tell you, it's not awesome.

Anyway, enough of that! How about some pictures and measurements!

Week 1

Week4

Week 8

Okay, I'm still not totally in love with how I look in a bathing suit, but I for dang sure look way better than I used to!  It is so motivating to see this progress and know that I'm doing so well.  And let's just talk about those measurements for a second.  I mean come on!!  This round definitely beats the last one for sure.  I'm so proud of myself and I love the confidence I'm building in myself.  I no longer go to the gym and freak out if someone else is there because I know I can hold my own.  Playing with Anna is easier and I don't feel, literally, weighed down by my body.  Saturday we went to the park and I needed to grab something from the car.  I ran.  And didn't die! It was awesome. This is making me a better person.  A better wife.  A better mother.  I can't wait to see what the next 4 weeks bring.

150 Weight Reward: Gel Manicure

I reached the 150 goal awhile ago, but haven't posted about it until now because I really hadn't gotten around to it yet.  I wanted to get a get manicure because I had heard how much longer they lasted and thought it would make a good reward.  Knowing it would be expensive, I checked for a cheaper option.  There are at home kits you can find at Walmart and I found a lovely red color in the clearance section.  Thursday, I finally had some time to myself to be able to do this.  It was easy enough, but I think I might upgrade to going into a salon and getting the professional version.   A day later, I already noticed a few chips and while I still really like the color, I'd rather it lasted as long as it's suppose to.

Weekly Weigh-in

Weighing In Today:  145 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  .6 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  16.3 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  30 lbs.

I'm really behind in posting this.  It's been kind of a crazy week.  Anna started getting sick the day before her birthday and then I started getting sick a few days later.  I'm still sick in fact.  Mostly just a stuffy nose now, that doesn't affect anything, but the sound of my voice.  We're all doing much better now, but at the beginning of the week I wasn't to excited to weigh in.  I didn't go overly crazy, but I knew that my appetite had a changed a little.  Once again, I was really bloated.  Being regular is something I've really struggled with since the miscarriage and surgery.  Even with probiotics.  I'll have to share what I've been doing to fix that issue in my next weigh in post because I want to see if it helped make the difference in my weight.

Anyway, I wasn't expecting to have lost anything this week, so half a pounds was pleasing.  Especially since now I've met my next goal.  Hooray!  And I only have about 30 pounds left to lose.  That's really great news!  I'm really excited to get to 135 because that was my high school weight and being only 10 pounds away from that is really exciting.  We'll see how everything goes, but I'm happy with my work and where I'm at so it'll will be amazing to see how I progress from here.

Weekly Weigh-In

Weighing In Today:  145.6 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  2.9 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  15.7 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  30.6 lbs.

I think every week, I get a new surprise with my weight loss and this was absolutely no exception! I feel so amazing! It's been awesome transforming my body so far.  I actually weighed myself  on both my .1 scale and .5 scale, just to see where I am in relation to the last time I lost weight.  The old scale said 140.5 lbs.  As much as I'd like to go by that scale, it's obviously off, but it's good to know that I'm pretty close to my last goal if I was going by that weight.  And to be honest, 140 was what I weighed when I got married.  So really, since I know that was the scale I used at the time, I know that I actually reached my wedding weight!  Kinda crazy.  This round is different from the last one and I have to say that I'm liking this one better.

Also, in case ya didn't know, today is my BIRTHDAY!!!  Woot!  I'm loving how I feel today and that I'm doing so well on this journey called life.  I have a beautiful family with my amazing husband and sweet daughter.  I'm working hard to improve myself and it's totally paying off.  Yesterday was Anna's birthday and I managed to stay away from sweets.  Today, however, will be different.  I haven't had chocolate in six weeks.  The first four were intentional, but the last two just sort of worked out that way.  I must say that I'm ready to break that fast!  I'll have a cupcake and some ice cream, so I'll not be going crazy, but will definitely be satisfying my need for that devilish food. I can't wait!

Weekly Weigh-In

Weighing In Today:  148.5 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  2.5 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  12.8 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  33.5 lbs.

Oh man!  This week had me nervous.  This was the first week that I wasn't doing the restrictive diet and had a bit more leeway in what I could eat.  I had pizza, waffles, and spaghetti this weekend.  I also worked out hard and made those the only high calorie meals for the days that I ate them.  I love that all of my hard work has been paying off.  This weekend is Valentine's Day, Anna's Birthday, and a week from today is my birthday.  Yikes!!  I haven't had chocolate in five weeks you guys and even though I've been avoiding temptation, it will be coming around soon.  I'm planning on making cupcakes and mini cupcakes for our birthdays so that portions aren't out of control.  We'll see how it goes.  Wish me luck!

Weekly Weigh-In & Week 4 Pictures

Weighing In Today:  151 lbs.
Weight Loss for the Week:  1.6 lbs.
Total Weight Loss:  10.3 lbs.
Weight Left to Make Goal:  36 lbs.

(You might have noticed, or may not, that I actually marked my progress on my chart an extra pound more in loss.  Whoops!  I didn't notice until today and fixed it.)

I made it to 10 pounds!!!! Woot!! I made my goal! I will admit that I was hoping to be under 150, but I'm just so happy that I made it to the 10 pound goal that I'm shutting down any other negativity.  This is the most weight I've lost doing the strict diet.  Speaking of which.  That diet is OVER!!!  Huzzah!  I'm so happy to finally taste bread and occasionally some sugary treats.  I don't plan on going crazy.  Mostly, I'm really just looking forward to Anna's and my birthdays.  It will be great and I can't wait.  This diet has been good for me to do and I'm glad I did it.  It helps to teach me that self control that I need to have.  However, it's not something that I could maintain full time.  I enjoy lots of different yummy foods and I like having the option to have them or not.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited for my progress and my measurements and pictures are no exception.  Check it out!

Week 1 Pictures
 Week 4 Pictures

I'm really happy with how my progress is going so far.  It'll be spectacular when other people really start to notice as well.  One of the quotes I have on my wall is "It take 4 weeks for you to see your body changing, it takes 8 weeks for friends and family, and it takes 12 weeks for the rest of the world.  Keep Going."  I definitely noticed some changes from 4 weeks ago.  I think you can see in the pictures my middle section looks better, but I'm definitely looking forward to what week 8 will bring!
